Poems

eDrifter

New poem:
Vagabond, a simple ryme scheme. Im thinking it could be easily added to 120BPM song. What genre of music/ or singer would do this poem justice? let me know what you think.

Charleston

eDrifter

Charleston South Carolina;

What an awesome day! the weather here could not have been better (for December)

Folley Beach: the sand was warmmed slightly by the bright sun; even in December some people showed up in bathing suits for some rays. Ayla and I ate at a taco place.

I cant wait for New York, I hope the snow picks up for a white Christmas.

Xmas Vacation

eDrifter

I’m taking leave on Monday, and will be traveling to New York from San Diego. The catch is I do not have a commercial airline ticket to the east coast. One of the perks of being in the military is the availability to fly for free in military aircraft. The seating is set on standby, first come first served, and as I’m learning the flights are limited. It looks like I may have to make several connecting flights in order to find my way to NY.

Most people in the military do not take advantage of this opportunity because of its unpredictable nature. Worst case scenario: I could find myself stuck on a small military airstrip in the middle of the country this Christmas.

12/15 – So far the plan is to take a flight out of NAS North Island (Coronado) to Fort Worth Texas, Then drive from there. Lets see if I can acctually get on that flight.

12/16 – Some easy number crunching and a phone call to Delta: time and money is saved by flying comercial. Space A is no good for me for this trip. so I grabed a one way to ATL and will base myself out of there for the time being.I was able to dodge a fee for extra baggage (saved 15USD) but I found that TSA had searched the hell out of the thing when I arrived in ATL. They did a pretty good job of packing everything back up and didnt take those cuban cigars I will enjoy with my new brother in law (Joe) this xmas.

12/17 – With leg one of my trip behind me Im planning Leg 2: ATL to Charleston SC. I will be staying on the ground for this trip, renting a car. The best advise for renting a car is, dont do it. It is incredibly expensive. Ive called up numerous companies and the best bet seems to be with Avis: charging 280USD for the rental and .30USD for every mile. Im planning to travel at least 500miles, which comes to about $500 before taxes. Obviously the less time im in the car the better so I will be spending as much time as possible carrusing with my friends,(freeloading)before I head on to Charleston.
